EXPANDED Introduction to Digital Photography happens at Santiago Canyon College/Community Services
This course now includes creativity exercises, night photography magic, and a Saturday session on campus. Along with the old standby Basic Digital Cameras, there are two wildlife sessions. A favorite location is Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary in Silverado Canyon and a new excursion to San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine. We will be introducing Lightroom and Photoshop and offering an Open Lab to continue your work with a guide.
You’ve been asking for it and it is here!
An advanced beginner/intermediate photography class. You will be challenged in the Digital Photography Intensive on two Sunday afternoons in April. We help you learn the custom functions of your camera to help you decide if you want to use them or not.
You don’t have to be a senior citizen to participate in Digital Photography classes hosted by the Tustin Parks and Recreation Department at the Tustin Area Senior Center. Students can sign up for these afternoon classes at TASC.
Don’t forget – we are enjoying great success with virtual sessions, too. Can’t get away from the office? Can’t fit classes into your busy schedule? Use this link to book your private tutoring lessons with Julie at TakeLessons.com

From fireworks to Handel – I created this eye-catching video with images from Disneyland fireworks and set it to the rousing music of Handel – La Rejouissance from the Royal Fireworks music.
This is my favorite image from the event:
Capturing fireworks images at Disneyland in Anaheim, California was the highlight of our spring Novice field session. We didn’t have to pay admission to Disneyland to get the best view of the fireworks. You can park in the Downtown Disney parking lot which is free for three hours and walk to the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure. Because of spring break the park and surrounding area was packed with visitors. So, I opted to pay $16.00 to park in the structure.
We had the best view from the top level.
You can join me at the next Novice Photographer class at Santiago Canyon College/Community Services this summer.

The Novice/Intermediate Photographer
and is offered at JDP Photography’s studio in Tustin. If you have questions about this set of classes, here is our phone number – 714.669.4537. This series of sessions provides more challenging photo ops to the photographer who wants to expand their experience. Practice with guided homework sessions include photographing the ocean/tide pools/water, motion, macro/flowers, and people. Field sessions will be followed by a classroom review and discussion (sometimes called a critique).
The Novice/Intermediate Photographer series can be purchased with a discount.
Because you asked, we are also offering
Studio Lighting Techniques.
Learn or practice studio lighting techniques from a PPA-Certified Photographic Craftsman. A complete professional photo studio is equipped to help you “see the light”. Gain confidence and expertise in studio portraiture or small product photography. You decide the project you want to learn more about. Small class size of 1-3 people encourages participation and maximizes individual attention.
Reserve this complete professional photo studio for your shoot. You will have three (3) hours to work on your studio project using our equipment (training will be provided) or bring your own.
