Lime Kiln Light
is a functioning navigational aid located on Lime Kiln Point overlooking Dead Mans Bay on the western side of San Juan Island, San Juan County, Washington. It guides ships through the Haro Straits and is part of Lime Kiln Point State Park, which offers tours during summer months.

We were waiting and watching for migrating whales to pass by, as was their daily custom. We didn’t see them, however, as the light was waning…and we were hungry and had to forage for food.

It appears deserted except for this lone rower skimming over the water of the Arno River.
