JDP Hosts #PhotographyAMA Ask Me Anything!

JDP with #PhotographyAMA sign

JDP is hosting #PhotographyAMA Ask Me Anything starting July 22, 2018

AMA stands for “Ask-Me-Anything”. AMA is a “crowdsourced interview” where the community asks a host questions.

Julie is hosting her #PhotographyAMA beginning on July 22, 2018

It runs for 7 days, so get your questions in early. In fact, you can ask your questions right now. The answers won’t be published until the #PhotographyAMA goes live at noon on Sunday, July 22, but it will give me a headstart on answering your photography questions.

Read these insightful questions already submitted.

What it is you want to say with your photographs, and how do you actually get your photographs to do that?

What motivates you to continue taking pictures?

What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?

Which photographers influenced you, and how did they influence your thinking, photographing, and career path?

How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?

What, in your opinion, is most important to consider while shooting portrait pictures?

Among the gadgets that you own, is there something that you wish you hadn’t bought? Why?

In your free time, what kind of pictures do you like to shoot and which ones do you avoid?

From your point of view, what makes a good picture?

Since the photography techniques and equipment change quickly, it is important to stay up-to-date. What do you do to always keep up with the times?

What do you think is the difference between a professional photographer and any other hobby photographer?

Join #PhotographyAMA @amafeed to see the answers beginning on July 22, 2018, noon Pacific Time

Painter Ana Peeks shares her work

Painter…

Painter Ana Peeks has been an artist for over twenty-eight years. Two of Ana’s aunts were oil painters and shared their talent with her during Ana’s teenage years. Master Artist Marge Yaros, Ana’s first art teacher, was a major influence in her style. Her favorite mediums are watercolor, acrylics and oil.

Ana’s work is impressionistic in style and her paintings are heavily driven by vibrant colors that invite the viewer to make their own interpretation of a painting and take a journey through a kaleidoscope of color.

Ana has shown her work at the Orange County Fair as well as two consecutive art shows at the Tustin Senior Center in Tustin, California.

You will see more of Ana’s paintings of landscapes, seascapes, nature, and wildlife in an upcoming art book.

At JDP Photography we produce images of

two and three dimensional art.

We deliver high-resolution files to the artist that enables them to create books or promotional materials or submit for juried shows.

HELPFUL HINTS

It is important that there is no glare on the artwork, no shadows, and that the colors are true to the original.

We will discuss everything required to deliver the digital files to your specifications.

Keep in mind that your smart phone photos are not good enough quality to submit to juried shows.

Morning in San Joaquin Marsh

On a recent Saturday morning students from Santiago Canyon College/Community Services spent a couple of hours with me at the Irvine Ranch Water District’s San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. We learned about the natural cleaning of the water as it travels to the ocean, identified several species of birds and water fowl, and simply enjoyed the sunshine and sounds of nature.

Click here for more information about IRWD and San Joaquin Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary.

Julie is leading a similar session at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve currently scheduled for Saturday, July 29, 2017. For more details visit Santiago Canyon College/Community Services.

Hope to see you in the wilds of Orange County, California!
